How to Apply for Bursaries

How to Apply for Bursaries

1. Apply to Luther College High School on Open Apply

In order to apply for bursaries you must first apply to Luther College on Open Apply. The deadline to submit an application for 2024-25 is March 1.  After this date, limited spaces may be available.

2. Apply to Apple Financial

Once you’ve initiated the Open Apply application you can then apply to Apple Financial Services on their website. The deadline to apply for Apple Financial Services is March 1.

Apple Financial Services will review your application and make recommendations on the amounts of tuition assistance to be awarded to you (if any). Apple Financial's suggested family contribution is based on the family’s financial resources and their ability to fund educational expenses. Apple Financial's analysis is one of the components used by Luther College to determine the level of assistance offered to the family applying. Apple Financial’s analysis is provided confidentially to Luther College and is not available to the applicants.

The Apple Financial Services website will show an application fee of $137.50. However, Luther College subsidizes half the cost, therefore your application fee is $68.75. This subsidized fee will be indicated once you have created your account on the Apple Financial Services website. The $68.75 fee is non-refundable and must be paid before an application is assessed. If you have concerns about this $68.75 fee, please contact our finance manager at finance.manager@luthercollege.edu.

3. Submit a Bursary Application form

If you would like to be considered for a bursary, based on financial need as well as other criteria, complete the Bursary Application form. An application is not considered complete until we receive all requested documents.

Luther College's Admissions & Bursaries Committee convenes in March and April to review all of the bursary requests and to determine the amount that may be awarded. Amounts awarded depend on demonstrated financial need, the family's ability to contribute to their student's tuition, and the funds available. Parents are contacted, in writing, with the amount to be awarded, or not, before the tuition deposit becomes non-refundable after 4:30 pm on April 30.
