Income Tax Information
Tax receipts are issued for/to Canadian students.
- Tuition fees – a charitable donation receipt will be issued to parents or guardians for a percentage of the school tuition fees paid in a calendar year. The amount of the charitable donation tuition receipt is determined by a calculation set by the Canada Revenue Agency in its Information Circular IC75-23 located here: IC75-23 Tuition Fees and Charitable Donations Paid to Privately Supported Secular and Religious Schools - Canada.ca The charitable donation receipts will be sent to parents or guardians via email before the end of February.
- Dorm Fees – dorm room and board for students aged 16 or less may qualify as childcare expenses. Please consult with your tax advisor.
- International Baccalaureate – A T2202 Tuition and Enrolment Certificate can be issued to students taking Grade 12 International Baccalaureate (IB) classes for IB fees paid in a calendar year. The T2202 will be issued in the student’s name and can be assigned to a parent or guardian. To request a T2202, please provide your student’s name and SIN number to financemanager@luthercollege.edu. The T2202 will be sent to parents or guardians via email before the end of February.
